Nomad List #1 for the Nova Open

I finally settled on my first list for the Nova Open ITS4 tournament. It would seem the norm for ITS4 is just to split your two lists into one designed to handle the objective-grabbing scenarios and another for more straightforward kill-em scenarios. I decided just to stick with this trend somewhat with a slight caveat.

First batch of Nomads - assembled, based, primed, and painted black.
The objective-grabbing list is based on the reassurance that the tables will indeed have heavy terrain density, concentrating on short ranged fire and maneuver tactics. Meanwhile, my kill-em list will focus on going for an all-out turn 1 mass alphastrike, in case of light terrain density that'll leave troops exposed in LoF. Basically, just decide the game with the Initiative Roll of who goes first.

Oh, and as for why I went Nomads instead of Ariadna - it was just for their looks, Nomads just scream iconic Infinity to me and I figured that's for the best since they'll be on display for others at the Nova Open. While I feel Ariadna are more ideal for ITS4 (in regards to my playstyle), their more contemporary appearance doesn't quite convey the whole sci-fi anime vibe of Infinity.

Anyways, here's my objective-grabbing/heavy-density list.

GROUP 1 (Regular: 10/Irregular: 0):
INTERVENTOR Lieutenant (Hacking Device Plus) Combi Rifle (0.5 | 26)
 INTRUDER HMG (1.5 | 44)
 DAKTARI Doctor Combi Rifle (14)
 2x ZONDBOT (3)
 PROWLER Spitfire, D-Charges (2 | 37)
 2x MORAN (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle, CrazyKoalas (2) (0.5 | 24)
2x ZERO (Minelayer) Combi Rifle, AP Mines (0.5 | 19)
SPEKTR (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle AP Mines (36)
TOMCAT Engineer Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower, D-Charges (22)

GROUP 2 (Regular: 0/Irregular: 4):
4x MORLOCK Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades (7)

6 SWC | 299 Points

The Intruder HMG, Morans, Zeroes, and Morlocks were all auto-includes, being golden oldies for me and particularly useful for defense - a bit lucky with the Morans being upgradeable to Forward Observers without change to their loadouts since I always take anyways.

The next adds were the Interventor (wasn't the LT just yet), Daktari w/ Zondbots, and Tomcat to handle whatever Secret Objective I might get. The Interventor's HD+ also counts for the Forward Observer objective so I don't have to worry about AROs when obtaining that through the Moran's Repeaters

Last up were the Prowler and Spektr, those were a bit of a hard choice. Other choices in the running were an Intruder LT, Bran De Castro, Lunokhod w/ Crazykoalas, and Uberfallkommandos. It pretty much came down to wanting some extra firepower (I only have 1 HMG and decent SWC to spare) and another Specialist in the midfield.

Tape - the poor man's version of magnetized bases.

I ended up stuck with the Interventor as my LT, who's especially vulnerable due to already being a target as a hacker and being one of my few non-camouflaged units on the table. On the bright side, she's WiP15, which will come in handy for the Initiative Roll with how important I perceive going first is going to be in ITS4.

Long range is another big concern as I'm simply very short on it. And while a lot of my squad will start halfway up the table, they're ability to maneuver into good range for attack is going to end up relying heavily on proper terrain placement and features, such as my hopeful inclusion there are buildings with interiors and not just solid buildings that force me to run around outside in the open.

Next up is the mass alphastrike kill-em list.
